Over a short timeline of two weeks, we created a unique position, powerful messaging pillars, and a cheeky voice that moved the chess conversation into the modern era

Intense desk research and user interviews to understand the rapidly evolving (and suddenly cool??) chess market

Helped to develop a unique voice based on messaging pillars and brand DNA, aligning how Nymzo speaks with its brand and market goals

Audience Definition

Identified and defined Nymzo's target audience of potential buyers, from casual to club players, who yearned for IRL chess experiences

Copywriting

Polished Nymzo's copy by "cutting the stodge" that permeates the chess market, finding moments of joy and humor within a seriously intellectual pursuit

Category Positioning

Positioned Nymzo against a shortlist of competitors, ranging from traditional woodworkers to tech forward gimmicks to chess wholesalers
